Debby Lim is a partner in Dentons Rodyk’s Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy practice group.

She has a broad commercial practice with overlapping strengths in banking and finance disputes, insolvency and restructuring, domestic and international arbitrations. She has also acted in construction and property-related disputes, shareholder disputes. She focuses on all areas of contentious insolvency, asset recovery work (including major commercial disputes), fraud and investigations. These often involve complex and multifaceted litigation in the aftermath of cross-border corporate collapses. Debby has represented debtors, creditors and officeholders in myriad insolvency-related litigation, including contested scheme of arrangement applications, creditor disputes, security enforcement and antecedent transactions.

Richard joined KPMG in 1983 and became a partner in 1997. His early years were spent in FS audit in London and Hong Kong and included a 2 year secondment to HSBC in its restructuring division. He specialises in financial sector insolvencies and restructurings particularly schemes and CVAs. He has lectured on complex financial instruments and sat for many years on the statutory Banking Liaison Panel set up to advise HM Treasury on restructuring matters and has also advised the Bank of England. For several years he was chair of the Technical Committee of R3, the restructuring trade body and was KPMG Global Head of Restructuring. In 2017 he left KPMG and for 2 years served as CRO/director of the Steinhoff group. In 2020 he returned to KPMG in order to participate in the sale of the restructuring group.

Gerhard Rudolph is head of the Litigation & Investigations department in our Johannesburg office and is a member of the firm’s International Arbitration group. He has extensive experience in representing and advising both domestic and multinational corporate clients in a broad range of contentious matters in South Africa, across the African continent and beyond.

He has a truly international practice, with numerous cross-border mandates in the following key focus areas: large disputes in the energy, mining and infrastructure sectors; complex transactional and regulatory disputes involving financial institutions, including regulatory and compliance investigations, asset tracing, global recovery processes and judicial commissions of enquiry; and contentious restructuring and insolvency disputes for a number of local and multinational corporates.

Gerhard has been ranked as a leading dispute resolution lawyer in legal directories for more than a decade. He is also regarded as one of the leading construction law specialists in South Africa.

Vincent Vroom, attorney at law, is chairman of the Litigation & Risk Management Group. He specialises in restructuring and insolvency matters. He handles a range of issues in restructuring cases whether they arise within the courtroom or outside.

Vincent often works on complex matters in international settings and has worked on ground breaking cases where Dutch entities were involved in US chapter 11 proceedings, schemes of arrangement and other foreign restructuring and insolvency proceedings (including Brazilian RJ proceedings). Vincent also gained broad experience in financing transactions. He headed the London office of Loyens & Loeff from 2014 until 2018. His clients include investors, debtors and financial institutions. Vincent regularly contributes to both Dutch and international publications.
