A Partner in Young Conaway’s Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Practice, Pauline Morgan handles a broad diversity of restructuring matters and represents the full range of participants in corporate bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings – debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, official and unofficial committees of creditors, and purchasers of distressed assets. Debtors and creditors alike trust Pauline’s advice and good judgment and appreciate her commitment to finding a practical solution to complex problems. In a practice spanning three decades, Pauline has played an instrumental role in some of the largest, most high profile chapter 11 cases in the country.
Pauline was a member of the firm’s Management Committee and served as Chair of the firm's Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring Practice from 2011 to March, 2019.
Luke Barefoot’s practice focuses on bankruptcy litigation, insolvency, corporate restructuring and related litigation matters, with a particular focus on cross-border and international bankruptcy disputes.
Luke is also active in the firm’s pro bono practice. He was inducted into the International Insolvency Institute’s Next Generation at the London conference on June 19, 2017.
Luke joined the firm in 2004 and became a partner in 2013.
Marc practises corporate and commercial law in the areas of corporate restructuring, financial services and private equity. He has been involved in many complex corporate recapitalizations, reorganizations and restructurings and related acquisitions, divestures, financings and governance matters. He has expertise in national, cross-border and international matters acting for major debtor corporations, bondholders, equity sponsors, senior lenders, monitors and acquirers. Marc also regularly provides strategic advice and risk analysis on structuring of corporate and lending transactions.
Lucas Kortmann is partner at RESOR N.V. His practice includes advising and litigating for banks, (multinational) companies, management and court-appointed administrators on all insolvency or restructuring-related issues, in particular in cross-border situations.
Recent experience includes advising a large national electronic retailer on its debt restructuring, assisting ATU on the closure of its activities in the Netherlands, advising Goldman Sachs International on the restructuring of a multi-billion euro German real estate portfolio with cross-border aspects, litigating for directors of insolvent companies in court proceedings on liability issues, and assisting special servicers and lenders on several consensual and contentious restructurings of distressed real estate investments, in particular CMBS-loans.
Previously, Lucas worked at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek and Hengeler Mueller (Berlin). Lucas is a fellow of INSOL International and a member of INSOL Europe and Insolad. He completed the INSOL International Global Insolvency Practice Course in 2010/2011 with honours. Lucas holds degrees in English Law and in Dutch Law.
